Psylocke in Avengers vs. X-Men #2

I compiled every panel Psylocke was from Avengers vs. X-Men #2, which includes a brawl with Spider-Woman. Psylocke appears wielding her telekinetic (?) katana throughout the issue. Iron Man has built some anti-telepathy tech which he used against Emma Frost. Not sure if the same applies to every telepath in Utopia or if it was just used on Emma.

If I remember correctly, there is also another panel showing her ass in the background (literally).

According to the AvX Program, Psylocke still has her telekinetic powers besides her telepathy (although no current writer shows her using TK), so it could be indeed her telekinetic katana.

As for Iron Man, I guess he infected every telepath. But Betsy always preferred to fight with her fighting skills instead of using her telepathy, didn't she? So I guess it doesn't make much difference for her...

(BTW, I'm surprised that Dazzler wasn't shown in the collective brawl, while Hepzibah and Jubilee were)

And Spider-Woman's powers must really suck if she's firing her blast directly at Psylocke's face and Betsy doesn't even look like it's hurting her...

Can't say I'm impressed by the art...

yeah I'm ready to see what Kubert and Coipel will bring to the art in the next 2nd and 3rd acts.

It's about as corny and generic as I expected. Do I sound bitter?

I already want to fast forward to the end or 3rd act. Act 1 will be the confrontation and Hope goes on the run, Act 2 will be the two teams trying to find Hope first while fighting along the way. Act 3 we have Hope corner while the two sides fight. Phoenix arrives for Hope and Wanda also enters the fray.

CBR have done a great Psylocke themed article based on 'comic book legends', including one about how she was originally planned to die in Psi-War!!

@treysome - Actually, from what I understood, the solicitations indicate that the Phoenix is already on Earth in Act 2 (see the solicitations for issues 6 and 7), within whoever it chooses as its host. Wanda will enter the fray during Act 2 (which seems to be really short, as from what I remember, each Act is drawn by a different person, and Coipel will only draw issues 6 and 7).

In Act 3, according to the solicitations for issue 8, apparently the X-Men are über-powerful and the Avengers are either imprisoned or hiding themselves in Wakanda. That makes me feel the X-Men will unfortunately be pictured as villains and will eventually be defeated...

Wanda will try to make up for what she did. I think she will either fight the phoenix or try to be the host so she can have her reality warping powers back and undo what she has done. So I'm mostly interested in the ending since it's again suppose to alter the marvel universe

I'm disappointed in myself for impulse buying this issue. I was gonna skip this even and wait for the TPB.

There was a butt-shot missed, but that kind of cheese is always skipable.

Blu,
You're good! I saw the art and knew I was not gonna support this with my hard-earned money! Respect to JR Jr for his enduring career at Marvel, but to be honest, I've always disliked his art style. I recall being so mortified when I saw the issue of X-Men that he drew when Illyana died and Piotr became an Acolyte and left for Asteroid M. Ugh.

A compliment from Mr. Chisolm? Be still my heart! xD

Yeah, his art is kinda... not a favorite. My biggest problem is that his AvX stuff looks so stiff and simple (cartoon-ish might be a better word?) compared to his older art.
